Militancy: Taliban kidnap five security personnel

A security official confirmed that five of their colleagues were missing.

PESHAWAR: The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claim to have kidnapped some security personnel whose video would soon be released.

“Two of our men were also killed during clashes,” TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan told Peshwar-based journalists in a phone call from an undisclosed location. A security official confirmed that five of their colleagues were missing. Separately, one soldier was killed and two were injured in militant attack on a check post in the Bin Darra area near the Pak-Afghan border in Upper Dir district.

Over five militants were also killed in retaliation when militants from across the border fired at the Karakar check post at around noon in the Bin Darra area of Barawal Tehsil. Meanwhile, one security official was killed and two others were injured in an attack a security patrol in South Waziristan.
