Football: Lakki Marwat, PTV through to semis

PESHAWAR: Lakki Marwat and PTV reached the semi-finals of the All Pakistan Governor Gold Cup Football Tournament being held at the Qayyum Stadium. In the first match, Lakki Marwat beat Fata 2-0 with Mustafa and Javed scoring a goal each. PTV beat Peshawar 2-1 in a thrilling match that was decided with just a few minutes remaining on the clock. Pir Salauddin scored the first goal with the first half ending at 1-0 in favour of PTV. In the second half Peshawar scored to level the game 1-1. However, Jalal scored a goal just three minutes before the end to ensure PTV’s progress. The first semi-final will be played between Chitral and Lakki Marwat today.
