Outraged civilians targeted the house of Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) MNA Riaz Fatiana in Kamalia. Two people were killed as a result of retaliatory firing by guards present at Fatiana’s house.
Protesters later entered the compound and destroyed eight police cars and four motorcycles. Police took Fatiana and his accomplices into protective custody.
Police and protesters continued to clash regularly in the area.
In Khanewal, protesters attacked Heraj house and set a portion of it on fire.
Protests continue in Punjab, Sindh
Civilians continued to protest against the power crisis in various areas of southern Punjab including, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Mian Channu, Chichawatni, Kabirwala, Haroonabad, Yazman, Rajanpur and Layyah.
Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Jacobabad and various other areas of Sindh are also suffering from hours-long power outages, where infuriated mobs have protested.
At least 10-12 hours of loadshedding in cities and 12-16 hours of no power supply in villages has miserably affected businesses and industries.

There was one death not two in Kamalia. There is no way to attack private property with petrol bottels and iron rods. Self defence law is available all over the world. When you will burn many vehicals, motorcycles and home of some one, than be ready for return fire or reaction. This is not the way of a wised nation to burn every thing on the name of protest. That is failure of Punjab government and police of district Toba Tek Singh. Because, there is same DPO Ahsan Younas, who was previously responsible for protection of Srilankan cricket team on Liberty markeet, Lahore. He failed to stop violent protesters and preventive measures. First he should be sacked, than chief minister Punjab should be resigned on motivation for violance to protesters.
Rana Khalid, Kamalia.
@zeeshan: There was one person killed not two. Secondly if a croud enter in your home with arms, iron rods and petrol bottels to burn you and your home, what will you do ??. Unfartunately violance will push our country into a fail state. where no body will be saved.
@Saad: if some protestors attack you, what will you do, will you throw flowers on them?
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable" ~ John F. Kennedy
Bravo! Bravo! What a bunch of illiterate mobsters destroying public and private property. And all of you are "jahil" pakis as well that are commending this destructive behavior. Destroying PMTs and transformers will not make the power situation any better! Thank god I left that country of insane people. I am more afraid of my "fellow" paki than I will ever be of the "evil" west.
Its the law of nature; the fire with strong winds eventually grows & burns even tallest & strongest tress
If two parties excite people to come in street, there would be civil war like other countries. This is a destructive way to solve our problems. Just to pay tax if your income is more than a certain limit like UK tax system is the only solution of our economic problems. Democracy can change our country entirely but If we vote to those people who respect their political opponents, justice and police. It is your human right to cast your vote without any pressure and to join any party. If a person does not accept your right of vote or your choice to joint your favourite party, he or she is would not work for your other rights like raising or planing expenses for generating electricity. Every thing in your country is as a result of your hard work and due to tax on every day life items which you buy for your self so it does not belong to a party and are yours so please protect them so that same money for buying new such items or for repairing can be used somewhrere else. Your life is every thing so please take care of your self and always do good things which you thing is good for you and for others.
There are a many other ways to protest.
@Mazi: Maybe the Pakistan Spring has finally arrived
My best wishes to pakistani junta. I hope this doesnt doesn't stop here and the corrupt responsible leaders are caught and punished in public.
Indian bhai log.. When willl you wake up? You also need to clean up the mess sitting in the Delhi Parliamant. Do you expect the old Anna to do it for you? Wake up. Wake up..
Opened fire at protesters? What is this? Are they out of their minds! First PPP is not accepting that problem even EXISTS, they are giving a political color to these riots by blaming Punjab Govt. Than they are firing on protesters who are seriously fed up of 22 hours of load shedding. Are they inviting a civil war with this stubborn attitude!
@AA:
he'll be returning soon inshallah. let the dust from this charade finish.
The comments above are shameless!
The people are attacking private property and so many ET readers think its justified. Load shedding is being faced by Sindh and KP as well. This does not mean that we go bonkers attacking house, looting shops and burning vehicles.
PMLN has ruined Punjab and is going to regret it soon.
Whatever is happening is ugly and the politicians behind this are enemies of the people and Pakistan. If it does not stop soon, I am expecting some reaction and then no one would be safe. I don't know about Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif they might have places to run to, but how about their minons? where are they going?
finally...the revolution is starting...about time...
@truth detector: With you all the way to the very end ...
@Jat, you got it right man. I think it is time for final push of Pakistan Spring... this Spring will bring out much better results than anyone else, InshaAllah...
Everyone should unite behind Imran Khan, PTI.
It's time for people to stand up to these thugs.
Yesterday FIR was registered against 1800 people in rioting. It is shameful that the Punjab government can't control 1800 criminals, how can it run a country.
Some one should show them Raiwind also. Sharif family palace never have load shedding. Better to keep it in "TO BE BURNED" list.
This is not the way to protest....... do not torch your country assets. This act by people is shameful...
Let the people decide, was the eloquent quip from the PM. Is he and his cohorts ready to face the music?
Was a case registered against the Police for killing two unarmed civilians? Was the firing authorized by a Grade 1 Magistrate? I am assuming the answer to both is none, which means that more people will be killed to protect the lost cause of saving the so called "elite".
The guards and their employers should be tried and brought to justice.
@sameer malik no body needs your suggestions where is your noora league why are they not taking out a long march
Shehbaz should resign first....
I do not know if revolution is about to come or not... however i just hate when public property is damaged by the protestors. ... okay ... the electricity was not there for X hrs...but what was the benefit of beating the bash out of the car parked or the signal or the motor bike etc etc the owner of it was seriously not involved for the misery that you have faced
get the right people... plz...every one that you see is not the cause of your problem
Plus the killer and the one dying are brothers / living in the same vacinity
Seriously... "kitnaa badal gayaa insaan".
I don't want democracy. Bring my Musharraf back so I can have peace.
For the first time, the ruling party MNAs and MPAs will feel pressurized to solve energy crisis. Those who are criticizing these attacks must not forget the shameless attitude of federal ministers yesterday. Instead of showing sympathy to people, they are accusing these protests for political backing.
I have witnessed today in my town a death of a little boy due to unavailibilty of water and no one was able to provide him water as no electricity to run motors
@Anil: IK is just waiting for his chance
This is a sponcered voilence instigated by the provincial government. FIR must be registered against the CM, home Minister and Home Secretary.
Since we are obviously an uncivilised society , such protests should be banned with heavy fines and jail terms. Is such a protest worth it if you ask the families of those killed, did it bring any electricity or prosperity? if the answer is no then what use was it???
@Mazi
Parliament house is property of Pakistan. Protesters are doing the right thing attaching house of MNAs. Its their own property.
Democracy is the best revenge on poor people of Pakistan.
There are a million other ways to protest, people who are calling for blood are either completely illiterate or lack any sense of responsibility.
PMLQ again ending up on the wrong side! Remember 2007 when there was no gas and flour in winters!!
CHANGE!! is it just around the corner now ???
Tribune, 2 people killed in Loadshedding protests should be the heading
Drag every politician out on the street and tell Imran Khan to get lost from here as well as his core problem is only PMLN , drones and chief justice while he is acting pro PPPP and he demanded no protest for loadshedding at all.
The start of Pakistan Spring !
V for Vendetta in the making
Nawaz League should have thought twice before setting this ugly precedent. They may be on the receiving end very soon.
And register FIR against the guards for murder
@Mazi: then where would your Imran Khan sit?
Protesting done right.
Shameful act of MNA's guards. It should be FIR lunch against MNA for these assassinations. Rulers are killing to civilian, they are using all sorts of resources to kill the public like load shedding, price hike, injustice, unemployment.
What is happening to my beloved country. SIGH!
i think that this is very natural totally human when frustration level crossed the limits. So every government should keep that in check. Governments failed to do so and see what happened in Tunisia , Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen where it was way above.
Instead of burning MNA, MPS's Houses, torch Parliament House.
