SC orders attorney general to take action against Riaz, Arsalan
In the order, the court said that while Malik Riaz claimed Rs327 million was given in cash, the documents presented only provided details of Arsalan’s visits and no proof of monetary transfers.
The short order also stated that Malik Riaz accepted giving money but did not express any regret over doing so. “The ones who give and the ones who accept bribes, both will go to hell,” said the order.
The order further stated that Riaz did not submit any statement on behalf of his son-in-law Salman and added that Riaz may have been used to bribing and getting his work done in the past.
In the order, the court stated that the media had attacked the judiciary, adding that the statements of journalists showed that they did not try to get their facts straight.
“Even today we are working to uphold the constitution whereas some elements are trying to sabotage it,” said Justice Jawad S Khawaja during the hearing. “The court stands against such unconstitutional acts.”
Later, speaking to the media, AG Qadir said that he had not decided upon a course of action as yet, adding that he would read the short order properly before deciding.

'Case doesn’t fall under NAB’s jurisdiction'
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Fasih Bokhari said on Thursday that the Arsalan Iftikhar case is a matter between two people and has nothing to do with the national treasury, reported Express News.
Bokhari said that the case doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of NAB.
Earlier during the day, NAB spokesperson had said that the bureau will investigate the matter if a reference is sent to them against Dr Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

This court has made a mockery of the law and the concept of justice. All the supreme court judges deserve to be sent back home. They have no clue of the law, have passed the most atrocious judgements, and have deep seated prejudices and fears. Goodbye CJ, judges!
Well, looks like Zardari and Gilani failed again at distracting the people with their friend Malik Riaz spreading lies.
Now, back to the contempt of court and convicted PM who ought to be disqualified with the rest of the sitting government.

Arsalan Iftikhar has the right to fair trial with appeals in High Court, Supreme Court and a review but not Hussain Haqqani, Ali Musa Gilani, Hamid Saeed Kazmi or the Prime Minister!
@Umer: You need to understand this judgement. SC have taken land mark decision and gave govt. of Pakistan to handle this case. Now we will see how this ppp GOVT. handle this case and investigate it.
Lots of people who are against this judgement unfortunately they did nOT udnerstand this decission fo SC. Supreme court ordered Atorney General and instructed to investigate this case according to the law of Pakistan as Supreme cout if not a investigation agency. It depends now atorney General of Paksitan who is representative of the Govt. how he does this. he might ask FIA to investigate completely and then find out what happened whic is 100% fair. After investigation we will come to know completely. It is clear that Irsalan Iftikhar did take soem money but Riaz used him to try to influence the Supreme Court but he faield to influence Supreme Court THAT IS ACTUALY really good.
Now GovT FRM A INVESTIGATION TEAM who msut be experienced and good persons to investigate this issue then decide who did what and how this all has happened.

@:D: You have hit the bull's eye. I agree with you 100%. In addition why did the SC grab this case all by themselves? Why did the CJ sit on the bench just to leave under pressure after a few days? Why the SC did form a bench again to hear the case when they are going to leave it to AG and the govt? Why is the PCO SC wasting that much time and resources on this case and not letting the lower courts and govt take care of it, which they are doing it now? An imp point about bribes is money is not always paid to get the illegal work done; even legal and fair task cannot be done without bribes. Assumptions and speculations that Riaz was giving bribes only to get illegal work done is biased and pure imagination. Most common citizens have to pay money to get everything done in their daily lives. How can they all be sent to jail, it is like victimizing them twice?

Malik riaz is continuously denying the fact that there is no political party or any agency behind his this case and he has taken this initiative on his own will and for the betterment of the country because "no business man is safe from the blackmailers" his words, but i have seen is interview on one of the media channel with luqman and meher where he said that in one of the sittings with cheif justice before the long march it was agreed with CJ that he will not run any parallel govt and he will not unnecessarily start any cases against PPP, wht is this ? i mean why he was asking favour for PPP and not any other party then how we can believe that in such situation when most of big politician of PPP are in the grip of courts, and he made a bomb blastic allegations against the non other the CJ who is now a days a matt striker for PPP.. HUh

This is exactly why they have not established a judicial commission. The commission would consist of their own judges and then you would have accused them of protecting CJ and Arsalan. Now they have thrown the ball the in the court of the government to show the world that how Zaradari, Gilani and Co. would bend backwards to save Malik Riaz Hussain Saheb.

Good decision. Now this is a TEST for government how it deals with both. Both should be punished.
Supreme Court is also part of Govt. of Pakistan. To protect it is also responsibility of the administrative authorities.

These judges are depending on sentiments of people and extremists taking refuge under Islamic Jurisprudence where ever they want to mold or quote a decision according to their desires. They are not competent to interpret the constitution and deliver vague decisions intentionally and against one type of thinking. Whole Judiciary needs to be reformed that can know and interpret constitution and not their or people's sentiments without any prejudice.
Given the fact that bribes are cash and normally without a trail, the judgement clearly is lopsided in the sence that though it confirms Dr. Arsalan took favours but remains ambigous about taking bribes. The order seems strange to the extreme. If it is the AG who has to investigate, then why did the CJ start this suo moto issue? Who answers the obvious questions: what has happened to the cases for which Dr. Arsalan took favours? What has the SC done to stop Dr. Arsalan from manipulating evidence and influencing possible witnesses? What has Dr. Arsalan done with the colossal figure reported to have been given to him as bribe? What does a Supreme Court got to do with 'hell'? How are sitting judges authorised to reprimand media for reporting the matter in a way that does not suit the CJ? This kind of verdict does not show Pakistani justice system in good light.
Shame on PCO judges. Why did SC not give Arslan to police costody for interogation? Why SC treats Malik Riyaz equal to criminal Arslan?

Why a clear order not have been passed to approprete authority to take action according to law and report directly to SC for further action within 15 days . SOME THING IS FISHY !!
Hamid Saeed Kazmi in jail without any proof. Hussain Haqqani traitor without any evidence. Commission formed to fabricate evidences. Musa Gilani is corrupt on just an alleged telephone call.

Why not a commission here? Why not his accounts are seized? Why not he arrested? Why not SC continues to investigate the case like other PPP cases? What about Chief Justice? What is his role in this episode? What about all those questions asked about him?

Why are authoritis not freezing Arsalan Chaudhuri's accounts and assets and taking him into custody to interrogate him ?
There is something called 'obstruction of justice'. There is probably 'subversion of justice' as well as an attempt for 'corruption of justice' that occured. Do we have laws specifically for these crimes?
We don't have any officer comparable to the AG in the US who is not an apologist and advocate of the government and who takes cognizance of major crimes by the high or low.
Our constitution is in need of major improvements and clarity. Also the SC must be enjoined to be prompt and far clearer in its judgments and be precise and comprrhensive to avoid slippery convicts from escaping by sheer misinterpretations!

Its just a way to shut up Malik Riaz. Who knows who else is involved. Judiciary and journalists have both come under fire.
Why did the supreme court involve into it in the first place, if it was to be investigated and brought to justice by the law enforcement agencies!
Very good and historical decision and Malik Raiz also should not use money in future just to legitimize his illegal deeds,and also Mr. Arslan who enjoyed money withot doing anyting must pay. This case must be examplary for the influencial peopels those are having laws in their hands. Allha will deal with corrupt,evils and dirty things through his man, he will not send angles, if someone says he/she does not belive in justice on this earth.
