
A total of 23,603 students appeared in the 10th-grade examination, of which 18,108 students remained successful — maintaining an overall 76.71 pass percentage. Meanwhile, 26,865 students appeared in the ninth-grade examination, of which 16,018 were declared successful — maintaining an overall 59.62 pass percentage. The top three positions were clinched by the students of Usmania Public School in Torwarsak, Buner district.
Zubair Ahmad stood first by securing 992 out of 1,050 marks. Talking to The Express Tribune about his hard-earned success, he said, “From day one of the ninth grade, I worked hard to get the first position but was unable to. But this time, with the grace of God and the hard work of my teachers, I have finally proved myself.”
Junaid Khan, who bagged the second position by scoring 985 marks, was just as determined to study through hard times for the district, “We thank God for giving us the courage to deal with the difficult times and hope to work collectively towards the uplift of the country.”
The position holders were awarded cash prizes.
The board chairman Professor Mohammad Imran congratulated the successful candidates, saying “It is a moment of immense pleasure for parents and teachers. We have to motivate students to contributing towards the development of the country.”
