Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has won a Rs3.15 billion project of the Universal Service Fund (USF) to provide basic telephony and data services in Mastung district of Balochistan, says a press release.
PTCL says that it has won the rights for the rural telecom services project through an open bidding. PTCL and USF signed an agreement for the project here this week, where Federal IT and Telecom Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was present.
Through the project, PTCL says it will benefit 74,831 people, residing in 102 un-served areas of Balochistan, including Mastung, Nushki and Ziarat districts.
“PTCL is committed to the government’s vision for bridging the digital divide and creating an expansive growth of broadband,” said Senior Executive Vice President Corporate Development Sikandar Naqi on the occasion.

Mr. Sikander Naqi congrats., on winning of the contract. As the TOR is not known, as an imp, ortant missing is the World IP Day June 06 when the world has unanimously committed to be with the world on the World IP Day which is IPV VIII. I understand we in Pakistan are still away from IPV 6, as mega event/ceremony should be held in Pakistan so we may be a prime provider in the league of nations.
