SUKKUR:

Activists of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party and the Jeay Sindh Mahaaz joined people belonging to the Lashari clan as the latter protested against police at Rehbar Chowk, Thul, on Tuesday.

The protesters, led by Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Khursheed Soomro and others, criticised the police for raiding Chuk Lashari village and misbehaving with women and children on Wednesday.

The protesters also accused the police of arresting Abdul Fatah Lashari, Mohammad Ismail Lashari, Abdul Haq Lashari and Mohammad Ishaq Lashari, and taking away 20 buffaloes, a tractor and cash and other valuables from their homes.

However, when contacted, Thull DSP Ghulam Murtaza Mirani claimed that police had raided the house of Jeand Lashari, who was a schoolteacher and office bearer of primary teachers association, to arrest his elder brother, Ghulam Rasool Lashari.
