
Flight delays caused their journey across the border to take 15 hours, but they had resolved to undertake the long journey to Islamabad for Indo-Pak peace, and kept it. A high-powered Indian delegation reached Islamabad on Sunday for an Indo-Pak Track II dialogue this week, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
The flight from Delhi to Lahore is only 45 minutes, but the journey onward to Islamabad is often subject to frequent delays and cancellations.
The delegation of former diplomats, policy experts, journalists and civil society activists are taking part in Jinnah Institute’s annual Islamabad Dialogue.
They discussed bilateral concerns, trade and economic integration, best practices in healthcare, water security on the first day of the conference.
The delegation is set to meet with ranking parliamentarians and government officials to talk about bilateral concerns and promoting the dialogue.
