LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday suspended a notification issued by chief minister to re-allot a GOR-I residence to the principal secretary to governor until further orders. Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan passed the order on Dr Shahida Khwaja’s petition. The petitioner’s counsel Sharjeel Adnan Sheikh argued that the house was allotted to the petitioner’s husband, former establishment secretary Shahab Anwar Khwaja in 1996. He said that the CM cancelled the allotment in 2011, but the order was later suspended by the LHC. He said that the CM had violated the LHC order in allotting the house to Tariq Javed Afridi, principal secretary to governor. He prayed that the CM’s order be set aside.

The court set June 8 for arguments from both sides.

The petitioner is an associate professor in the health department.
