KARACHI:

At least four cases against alleged Lyari gangsters, including Akram Baloch, Ghaffar Zikri, Uzair Baloch and Umer Kachi, are set to be made ‘dormant’ as the police have been unable to arrest any of the suspects.

At the Anti-Terrorism Court III on Tuesday, the Napier Road police admitted that they were unable to find Uzair Baloch or Umer Kachi.

The case files for Akram Baloch and Ghaffar Zikri, which were set for hearing on Monday, are also likely to be declared dormant as they are also absconding. The case against Uzair and others was registered under sections 324, 427 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) along with sections 3 and 4 of the Explosives Act. Umer Kachi and others were nominated in another FIR (66/2012) registered under sections 147, 148, 149, 353, 324 and 427 of the PPC along with sections 3 and 4 of the Explosives Act. The cases against Baloch and Zikri were registered at Kalakot and Chakiwara in 2011.
