Suicide: Childless man kills self

ISLAMABAD: A middle-aged man slit his throat with a kitchen knife to end his life. Quoting initial investigations, a police official said the man, who had been married for a couple of years, was allegedly depressed by the fact he was impotent. Syed Nadeem Yousuf, 47, a resident of Golra Abadi, was facing continuous pressure from family and friends as the couple remained issueless for two years. His father-in-law visited him a few days ago and expressed concern that Yousaf had hid his impotency from them before marrying their daughter, a police official said. On Saturday evening, Yousuf went into the kitchen and slit his throat with a knife. He died of blood loss on the spot, said the Golra police quoting his wife. She spotted him lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen and called the police.
