Dispute: Man shot dead, three injured

The police registered a murder case against Lal, who was still on the loose when this report was filed.

RAWALPINDI: A man was shot dead and three others were injured when a group of men opened fired on another group on Girja Road in Rawalpindi on Saturday evening. Farooq Aslam was shot dead by Muhammad Lal and his sons, police and rescue officials said. The injured included Munawar Jan, 50, who was shot in the leg; Muhammad Nazeer, 29, shot in the hand; and Hanif Aslam, 30, shot in the foot. Sadaar Berooni Police Station House Officer Sohail Zaffar said two groups — led by Lal and Aslam, both cousins — exchanged fire over the issue of raising a boundary wall on a disputed piece of land. The body and the injured were to DHQ Hospital. The police registered a murder case against Lal, who was still on the loose when this report was filed.
