KARACHI: Eight dilapidated buildings in Liaquatabad which could collapse during the monsoon season have yet to be vacated despite several warnings by the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA). The technical committee of the organisation conducted a survey in 2009 in which it discovered that eight structures, including the Government Anjuman Islamia Girls and Boys School, were not safe. The KBCA has repeatedly asked the occupants to move out of these buildings, but to no avail. It is now concerned that the buildings might cave in because of heavy monsoon rains.
