KARACHI: The Karachi University’s (KU) Academic Council fixed the passing percentage for all examinations undertaken by its students, including those for BS and Master’s programmes, at 45 per cent.

The new rule will go into effect for students who enroll into the university’s 2012 session.

The Council, which met on Tuesday, also passed a resolution condemning government colleges that were switching their affiliation from the KU to other universities.

The meeting was presided over by KU vice chancellor Prof. Dr Mohammad Qaiser and the recommendations were presented through the vice chancellor’s adviser for the semester cell, Prof. Dr Haider Abbas.
