Hamesh Khan’s bail: NAB asked to reply in a week

LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau in the bail petition of former Bank of Punjab president Hamesh Khan.

The bureau has been asked to reply in a week.

Khan, accused of being involved in a Rs9 billion bank loan scam, submitted that a co-accused in the NAB reference had been released on bail but he was being denied the same relief. His counsel said that Khan had been languishing in jail for two years. He asked that Khan be released on bail, for which he was ready to deposit surety bonds.
