LAHORE:

The Punjab government has formed a seven-member committee to resolve a dispute between the officers of the former Provincial Civil Service (PCS) and Provincial Secretariat Service (PSS) – now merged to form the Provincial Management Services (PMS)  over promotions.

The committee, headed by the law and parliamentary affairs secretary, has until around the end of this month to finalise recommendations for submission to the chief minister.

Though it was formed last Tuesday, there has yet to be a meeting of the committee. The PSS officers want a larger share of promotions than they have.
