Gunmen torch 2 buses in Lahore, IJT suspected
Eyewitnesses said that the gunmen had stopped buses by opening fire in front of them. They got on the bus and warned all passengers to get off or they would set it on fire with them inside. The gunmen were carrying 1.5 litre bottles of fuel, which they used to torch one of the buses from the inside.
Both incidents took place within half an hour.
An eyewitness said that rescue sources had arrived to extinguish the fire, but had to leave after they ran out of water and then they came back half an hour later. The police, however, had arrived at the spot immediately, he added.
The police are suspecting that IJT members are behind this incident as they have been protesting against the murder of their fellow during a clash between two student wings earlier this week. On Friday, IJT members clashed with the police in front of the Punjab University Old Campus on Mall Road. Police dispersed the protesters by using tear gas and pelting stones.
The police claimed arresting around a dozen students during the clash.
Jamiat members had claimed that Abrar Wattoo had killed Awais Aqeel on Sunday night, and alleged that Watto was being protected by the authorities.
The protesting students had also lashed out against the administration of Punjab University after they claimed that Aqeel was not a “regular” student at the university.

Dears u have any proof that shahbab e mili is been involved in this murder????? dont make any assumption in this matter.... if u have any proof then show this... and 2ndly the issue of beating teachers was always imposed on JI... but the reality is that all the personal issues and other university matters which is ended on fight, the cheap administration of university blame on JI..

@farhan not only pink T-shirt guy, infact all men in the picture belong to IJT as caption says that IJT member are protesting against the murder of their fellow. The problem is charges on them. Where do you see these people burning buses/cars? Where do you see them holding guns?
On May 12, 2007 APMSO/MQM were seen firing live on private tv channel. No one blames them of responsible of terrorism. Infact, they are part of govt. No one asks to ban MQM/APMSO.

My father is professor at Punjab University; who knows these thugs better than me. The murderer belongs to Shabab e Milli, another group of goons related to JI. Watto had differences with the person killed who was IJT Nazim. Watto himself lives abroad, and his gang is involved in murder. Jamatias are attacking buses, and assaulting teachers to show that they are being victimized; in reality the murder is a result of their internal dispute
If they arent interested in studies, they should joing the political parties and spend all day doing these useless and destructive acts. Why bother going to universities and wasting their own time and definitely that of the other students?? Student unions should be banned as they appear as hopeless as the original parties themselves.
