Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid tribute to the farmers who "work day and night to grow grains to fulfill our food needs".
In her message on National Farmers' Day, she said the government is mechanising the agriculture sector for their progress and convenience.
She said the Kisan Card had been launched for the prosperity of farmers and productive loans were being given to them.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, "Farmers have purchased billions of rupees worth of fertilisers, seeds and other agricultural inputs using the Kisan Card. Farmers are being led on the path of development and prosperity through agricultural mechanisation.
She said the farmers were being provided 'green tractors' on interest-free easy installments.
The chief minister said projects for providing solar energy for agricultural tube wells and granting livestock to the farmers were progressing rapidly.
"Vaccines, treatment and fodder are being provided to livestock farmers through the Livestock Card. Agriculture, livestock farming and the rural economy will be taken to new heights" she added.
