PESHAWAR: The government has allocated Rs500 million for construction of roads in the areas where mining and mineral extraction projects are underway in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. This was stated by K-P Minister for Mineral Development Mehmood Zaib Khan while addressing a conference on “Mineral resources in Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa” on Thursday. The minister said that despite unfavourable conditions in the province, the government has given special attention to the mineral sector. He said the government’s decision to establish offices at the district level and to purchase vehicles to allow much-needed transport facility for people working in the sector has been a “bold step forward”.
