“PTI will make sure no one takes away women’s rights,” he added.
Imran was addressing a PTI women wing convention in Islamabad, which was organised to mobilise women.
The PTI chairman also said that his party would stand by the weak and provide justice to all. “The law of the country will help women, who would be provided with lawyers by the government,” he said.
Attacking the current government, Imran said that the current setup will have to go as they cannot withstand the PTI “tsunami” anymore.
Imran further added that once in power, the PTI will bring back all the looted money to Pakistan.

Ah...tired of this word "Tsunami"...He should stop using this word....he sounds very immature when use this word.
@gp65 Bring in as many laws as you want, but still no justice if they are not implemented and the powerful can influence the judiciary and the police to meet their ends. You'll see this in MANY cases related to crimes against women. The perpetrators are mostly men having some sort of influence or power or even backing of political parties.
Don't get me wrong, it's all good to bring laws for women empowerment, but rule of law is a pre-requisite which sadly not many of our political parties emphasize. We have to get this in our heads that without rule of law there will not be protection of the weak, be they women, minorities, religious sects or anyone else.
@khalid the law of testimony according to this "alllah's law" requests two women as witnesses in financial transaction but never states that two women's testimony is equal to one man's
@Zoaib: The rule of law will not give justice if the laws themselves favour the men in areas like domestic violence, rape etc.
What some of my dear posters above do not understand is that it is LESS about the kind of laws we have in Pakistan, but MORE about the implementation and the fact that there is no rule of law in Pakistan which leads to the weak e.g. women on the receiving end in our society. PTI's main goal is to ensure the rule of law which will solve half of our issues. How can we even talk about legislation when we clearly know it is not going to be implemented anyway and the powerful are always going to have their say in everything...?
On the contrary, he should pledge that woman should get equal share of property of he is a true democrat.
I say to people who leave no chance of bringing up negatives from positives 'Shut Up!' and listen to the man who dares to give unpopular statements. Have you ever bother to ask, your so called leaders from present government i.e. central and provincial, these very questions? Do you have the courage to ask them? Pity on you guys because you lot always cry in front of them and when some one like Imran Khan wants to do good you start speaking this crap about him.
Come elections and I will vote of change, I will vote for Imran Khan
Junaid Khan Oxford UK
@Sabeen Siddiqui:
He'll never announce punishment for marital rapists or wife beaters,he'll never oppose the Hudood ordinance because sadly his support base and his followers are highly misogynistic and are extremely rightwing. If he announces laws against marital rape and domestic violence,he will have no support left as his fans are against any laws and policies that would give women an equal place to men in our society. You just have to talk to his supporters or see the activities of the PTI trolls to know their regressive cavemen mentality.
Our great leader should take a firm stand against those who violate women's rights in this country.Imran khan should committ publicly to repealing the Hudood ordinance, law of evidence. His party and their much publicised think tank should enact legislation criminalising domestic violence and marital rape. It's very easy for anyone to stand up and say i am for women's rights while at the same time not condemning those that do the most damage to women's rights in our society.Strict punishment for child marriages, marital rape and domestic violence must be announced by Imran khan.
Imran should stop making excuses for those who subject women to the most abuse in our society. Why didn't Imran hold any rallies, organise any dharnas when the domestic violence bill was prevented from passing? Why didn't he speak out strongly against those who blocked the domestic violence bill?
Way to go Kaptaan. We definitely need a pluralist society where the state that respects & provides level playing field to everybody; above the divisions of gender, ethnicity, sect / religion, caste and social / financial status. A society in which the only credential for success is "Integrity" (religious folks call it Taqwa).
Get the discriminatory and oppressive law of evidence removed.Get the anti-domestic violence bill passed.Enact laws punishing the men committing marital rape.Do tangible things or atleast announce support for women's rights.Paying lip service at rallies while supporting regressive misogynists will only diminish your stature.Speak out openly against the religious extremists promoting discrimination against women.
