This is with reference to your report “Bilawal… or Bakhtawar?” (August 5). I can’t comprehend how we actually believe that either of these two can understand the problems facing Pakistan and that they will make contributions towards developing this country. People who have lived a privileged life in a western country, who do not know what it is like to be an ordinary citizen, to stand in queues to pay bills or be harassed by the police, will never understand the problems of this country.
They may know the perfect definitions of poverty, corruption and terrorism but they can never know what it really is. We don’t need imported political elite but someone who is one of us, who knows how badly the inflation of staple diet affects the poor segment of our country. Unfortunately, I don’t see such a candidate in our political system.
