KARACHI:

The police claim to have arrested three men allegedly affiliated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army from Sher Shah in Karachi.

The arrests were made by the Anti-Extremism Cell of the Crime Investigation Department on Monday. The arrested men were identified as Abdul Ghaffar Bugti, Faisal Bugti and Shamsuddin Bugti. According to AEC chief SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan, the men were arrested on a tip-off when they arrived in the city from Balochistan to deliver rockets and ammunitions to the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee.

Nine rockets and 550 ammunitions were seized from their possessions, he claimed. SSP Khan said that during initial questioning, the men revealed they delivered six consignments of rockets, mini rockets, grenades, launchers, weapons and ammunition to the PAC or Lyari gangsters in the past six months.

Outlawed PAC chief Uzair Jan Baloch said that the PAC has no link with the BLA or any outlawed organisation, adding that the police, especially SSP Khan were trying to prove the PAC as a gangster or terrorist organisation with fake cases against innocent persons.
