SARGODHA: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Sargodha on Saturday rejected the bail plea of former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Aslam Madhyana in the FIR registered against him for torturing a school teacher and breaking both his legs, Express News reported.

During the hearing, the apex court asked the teacher, Nafees Khan whether he had personal rivalries with the former MPA, upon which he replied, “My only crime is that I called him the ‘grandmother of thieves’ in the DPO’s open court”.

The accused will be indicted in the next trial which will be held on May 10.

A division bench of the Lahore High Court had extended a stay order stopping the ATC from passing a final order in the case against Madhyana who according to the police, along with his accomplices had attacked the 60-year-old school teacher.
