SPI: Inflation down 0.14% during week

SPI for the week under review was recorded at 174.17 points against 174.41 points registered in the previous week

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended May 3 has registered decrease of 0.14% over the previous week for the lowest income group.


The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 174.17 points against 174.41 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The SPI for combined groups reduced by 0.12%; from 183.53 points in the previous week to 183.31 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups is inflated 9.3%.

During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as
follows: 10 items registered a decrease, 17 items increased and the remaining 26 items’ prices remained unchanged.
