Football: Redknapp holds ‘no grudges’

LONDON: Harry Redknapp has insisted he holds ‘no grudges’ after appearing to lose out in the race for the vacant England manager’s job to Roy Hodgson. Ever since Fabio Capello resigned in February, in protest at the Football Association’s (FA) decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy, Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknapp has been the favourite of fans and the media to succeed the Italian. “It’s not a problem,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “If Hodgson takes the job, I wish him all the best. He’s a great guy.” According to the FA, they had opened talks with the lower profile Hodgson, the manager of mid-table Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, and that he was the only man they would have spoken to about the vacancy.
