PTCL: Nerve centre repaired amid snowstorm

PTCL’s Lowari hill repeater became inactive, disrupting all DSL and Wireless communications in Chitral.

CHITRAL: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) launched a challenging operation in the hilly snow covered region, in the midst of a snowstorm.

Due to the blizzard, PTCL’s Lowari hill repeater became inactive, disrupting all DSL and Wireless communications in Chitral. The Lowari hill repeater is located at a height of 10,256ft and serves as the hive of PTCL’s telecom services in the area so despite such unforgiving climate, the organization immediately undertook maintenance and repairs to streamline all communications. Wireless North GM Wajeeh Anwer said on occasion of the feat “PTCL upgraded the services by repairing the foundation of the tower, thus restoring DSL as well as wireless services for different areas of Chitral”.

“We did not let harsh terrain and weather to come in the way of our firm commitment to provide quality and uninterrupted telecom services to valued customers in Chitral.” he further added.
