Cricket: Bulls outpace Jaguars

KARACHI: Farrukh Hanif scored a half-century and Naveed Akhtar picked up three wickets as Southend Bulls defeated Southend Jaguars by 47 runs in their Southend Summer Premier League opening match. Batting first, Bulls registered 212 for six off their 25-over quota with Farrukh making a quick-fire 66. In reply, Jaguars were restricted to 165 for eight with Arsalan Sohail’s 57-run knock going in vain. Meanwhile, Southend Cubs won a thrilling encounter against Karachi Boat Club by two wickets despite Farhan Arif hitting a superb hundred.
