According to Director Batra, Veena is perfect for the role as she has been through many phases in her career and had been part of many controversies.
“Professionally also she is a successful model and actress and is the apt choice for the film,” Batra was quoted as in the TOI report.
The TOI report further stated that “Campbell is a British Model who is compared to Veena Malik, as both are established as the most recognisable and in-demand by the fashion world.”
According to the report, Veena will be paired opposite Indian actor Ashmit Patel.

@Iyan: I'm amazed at you comparing Veena with Sophia, all what Asad meant was she lacks good acting skills which is true, even I feel she ain't a good actor anyways, she could be a good model but actor NO WAY!!!!!
@Saira Khan: Ditto! Surprisingly the same religious fanatics have no issues with ladies doing anything in Pakistan.
@Asad: Do you understand the concept of marketing ? That is what it is all about. By including people from around the world in the making of a product (where such inclusions are possible) , you gain patronage for your product from the rest of the world. As simple as that. Bollywood producers are very aware of how Hollywood made it with Sophia Lorens' and Michael Caines'. It is not there was a dearth of actors in the US (Hollywood) but with a Sophia Loren the whole of Italy (at least, in fact of most of Europe) will watch as well. True, later such actors become famous in their own right and everything is even more profitable for the producer!
@Asad: It's about success, whichever way you get it.
Dont tell me another controversy is in making. She is in India and she can do what ever she thinks is best of her.
cool
i love you veena malik!!!!
Congratulations to Veena, she deserves her success
@G. Din: Wow India must be paradise on Earth. Do you guys also have rivers with flowing milk and unicorns running around in grassy plains?
@G. Din: I highly doubt your claims about indian being the land of hope for the oppressed of the world. What I was talking about is that how a 3rd rate 'actress' lacking any real talent in terms of performing arts can get movies in india. Anyway whatever.
@Tom Cruise (see i told you): Is it cash the cow or milk the cow??? I think she is doing both, says Baby. Cashing in while being milked. Now that is a really profitable Milch Cattle!!!
@Asad: Your statement is true. There is no one to expose ISI as Veena Malik
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: Sorry man!! Money rules.
i can already say its gona be a flop!
Come on Veena.. all the very best for your new projects. Hope all gets resolved between you and your Abbu. We Indians love you.
opposite Ashmit Patel... hmm.. maybe someone is trying to cash the cow one last time after the Big Boss fiasco.. pretty sure it's going to be a dreadful movie! She can act? and i'm Tom Cruise.. seriously.. read my name!
@Asad: "Just don’t understand one thing that is is there a shortage of actresses, models, talented women in india?" No, there isn't. We like to think that India is a haven for the bold and the persecuted. She is welcome as one with a free spirit who is carrying on in spite of the abuse of obscurantists, against unimaginable pressures by bullies all around her. Such souls are one in a million and we, in India, feel honoured to help and host such brave and lofty spirits as gifts to mankind.
Hi You are veary nice I am like your working Best of luck
Good luck Veena
What a courageous lady. She has shown immense courage especially coming from a patriarchal society like ours. Over here, it is the men who set the rules, who make the laws and who dictate how women should live their lives.Women are merely slaves to the commands and desires of men who make all the important decisions in the life of the women in their family. It is truly heartening to see someone from a misogynistic society like ours bravely move ahead despite all the insults thrown her way.She didn't surrender before the threats and intimidation of the religious fanatics.
All the best to Veena. She has been savagely attacked by our religious fanatics who want to imprison all girls in burkas, abayas and hijabs but she has bravely withstood all attacks and emerged a true winner. Our society can't tolerate a strong,self-reliant,independent woman and veena had to face their wrath because of it. The religious misogynists were after her and criticising and ridiculing her but hats off to veena she stuck to her guns and didn't let her critics get to her.
*Actress
Just don't understand one thing that is is there a shortage of actresses, models, talented women in india?
ok
I have seen number of catwalks of various designs of Pakistani lawns launched this summer but Veena Malik was not there?
Does she only wear Indian made lawn clothes?
