Speaking to media at Multan airport, Qureshi said problems like terrorism, ethnic violence and identity crisis can only be solved through rationalism and sincere efforts.
“The environment of fear came to a halt in Quetta and I feel proud that it had happened due to PTI,” a beaming Qureshi said.
The PTI vice chairman added that the people of Pakistan have shown trust in PTI’s leadership because of its sincerity towards the country.
Claiming that the government is planning to delay the general elections, the PTI Vice Chairman said the government has lost its credibility and has no reason to postpone the elections.
“The government must realise that they cannot improve their corrupt image with the money they have accumulated through corruption,” Qureshi stated, adding that if elections are delayed, his party will protest across the country, along with civil society members.
Talking about creation of a Seraiki province, the PTI Vice Chairman said that the government is just using the issue as a political ploy. “They don’t even have enough funds to accommodate a new province,” he mocked.
“People should not be fed with sham statements. They [government] are never going to create new provinces because the introduction of the 18th amendment has made the issue very complicated,” he added.
Responding to the issue of reopening Nato supply routes, Qureshi said the routes were closed for a reason and if the government decides to reopen them, they should provide a good reason for taking this decision.
Commenting on relations between India and Pakistan, Qureshi said that both the countries should work together on the basis of equality.

@Ch Allah Daad: He was known as Abū l-Hakam, translated to English as "Father of Wisdom", meaning he was considered a wise man amongst the Quraysh. Abu Jahl was the bitterest opponent against the budding monotheistic religion and thus his belligerent stance earned him the name Abū Jahil أبو جهل, the Father of Ignorance.
Ch Allah Daad, Thanks for refreshing my memory about ABU JAHIL, about who? ABU JAHIL.
With out any prejudice against the success of Quetta rally organised by PTI in such a tense environment, I think PTI guys should not get too excited about Balochistan. It is not as simple as it may sound in those speeches, they have some symbolic significance though which is being extensively marketed.
@zia: @Cheema: @Freeman: Guys don't worry Ch, Allah Daad is on the payroll of PML(Laptop) it's his job. Afterall everybody has to feed their tummy.
@sane voice: Your voice is anything but sane.
@Ch Allah Daad
Sad, but your comment has only this answer dear.
sharam tumko magar nahi aati.
@geeko: Good assessment....agree with you....
It was not an easy feat to go there among all the fear factor and law-and-order situation. Imran and PTI made inroads in the Baluchistan and started a new life of national politics in Quetta. I am sure you will see more life in coming few weeks and months. This was not seen for many years.
@Ch Allah Daad: Chairman Khan is against any sort of military action from the very first day of his political career; be it in FATA, SWAT, Kashmir, Karachi, Balochistan, Afghanistan, etc....He is a genuine politician, who believes that all problems can be solved politically and military action should be the last resort....
@MarkH: Yes, peoples like to rush into each other under heavy rain and AK-47 bullets. @sane voice: The mere usage of "PTI troll" is indicative of how sincere your politics of reconciliation sounds, but, anyway : there were less Baloch than Pakhtoons because of Quetta's own demographics, but there were still ethnic Baloch, PTI Quetta president himself is a Balochi-speaking Brahui (Muhammad Naveed Mengal) and you can watch today's "Doosra Pehlu" with Muhajid Barelvi and see how many Baloch were there - one said to be from Kalat, and you have to Google "Khan of Kalat about Pakistan" to know how symbolic it is - also keep in mind that rain made the transport more difficult, so even the Hazaras were less but still there. Imran Khan too is perfectly aware of this fact too, and said that he'll concentrate on more Balochi areas from now on (Makran, Dera Bugti, ...)
But, hey, if PPP, PML-N, MQM, ANP, JUI-F, ... put together, could do that kind of jalsa in Quetta/Pakhtoon area I would be really surprised.
PTI rally should ignite political activities in Baluchistan. This is must to stop the cycle of violence. Other parties instead of going after IK/PTI, should emulate them and start political activities. There are no military solutions to the militancy, only political.
Cumulated wealth through corruption, would once again be used to buy the votes like an investment to continue the vicious cycle. The nation at large for such a deplorable wide spread act of briberies would be inflicted with all the evil yet once again to hinder for any change.
How can holding a rally be proof for anything other than crowd hustling capabilities? If someone holds a big rally, does it mean they have workable solutions for all issues at hand? Oh maaannnnn! Do these "leaders" think that people are fools or maybe they are...
If you talk in the language of Separatists, they won't distrupt your rally. Separatists in Balochistan want Pak Army to leave so that they could play havoc with those who believe in federation. PTI sang those lines louder than separatists and was rewarded with a successful rally. A small, meaningless rally is held at the cost of federation. Congratulations.
Notwithstanding the fact that PTI did a jalsa in Balouchistan; definitely a very nice effort that needs to be appreciated, yet a close analysis reveal that overwhelming attendance was just from one ethnic group. frankly baloch and brahvi were totally absent. i know PTI troll would not like my comments, but it wouldnt change the reality. Imran khan even abused the politicians of balochistan..................he should have isolated the current political dispensation rather than abusing all the leadership of the province.
the politics of reconciliation showed by khan in karachi was absent in quetta, probably it wasnt needed there.
@Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA: I rarely agree with anything you say and nor am I a great PTI fan. But I definitely agree that this outreach to a highly alienated people was an act of courage and patriotism.
Long Live PTI
Pakistan Zindabaad! Imran Khan Zindabaad! PTI Zindabaad! True Patriots of Pakistan Zindabaad!
It doesn't prove a thing. Quite honestly, it's one more illogical statement from PTI. Only this time it didn't come from Imran Khan, it came from a guy who is supposed to know what he's doing. Unless you can have a 24/7 rally, it doesn't prove a thing other than people like rallies.
For months the media told us: Balochistan is a no-go area. The security situation is real bad. It is on fire. You can't raise Pakistan's flag. You can't sing national anthem. For months our media trumpeted this line day & night. And in the midst of all this media uproar, PTI took up the daring challenge of going to the people of Balochistan; to talk to them, to hear their grievances, to bring them back to Pakistan. Quetta Jalsa was not PTI's Jalsa; it was Pakistan's Jalsa. It was a tough test for PTI as well as Pakistan but in the end, it was a job well done. However, this important & historic event was largely ignored by our "Breaking News" media; the same media that reported ALL THINGS NEGATIVE about Balochistan for months. The media failed to show Pakistanis that the Quetta Jalsa was Pakistan's moment in Balochistan. They failed to tell the people of Pakistan that Balochistan is not lost yet; that the hearts of the Baloch still beat with their brothers & that Pakistan Zindabad thrills them as much as it thrills the Lahorites or the Karachiites. That all they need is some consolation & proper acknowledgement of their due rights. That day, after a long time, Balochistan heard thousands cheering Pakistan Zindabad. It saw Pakistan flags waving proudly in the air. It heard National Anthem being sung by people - across ethnic lines; Baloch, Pashtun, Hazara, Punjabis (in short Pakistanis). PTI passed its test but alas the media failed the test. p.s: Youtube video: National Anthem at PTI Jalsa in Quetta
PTI has done what no other party even imagined to do in Balochistan.
Hats off to Great Imran Khan and his team for doing this,
My political, social and mral support was always with PTI. After Balochistan Jalsa all financial support is also with PTI.
If one listens to the political speeches he/she would conclude that they have solved all the problems with the gathering and speeches. Easy to say that we would do it and the others are not doing it. What is your plan and what have you done while you were in the govt? Without a clear plan nobody can do anything except talk and talk is cheap.
