Disturbed neighbourhood: Lyari women file petition against raids

This is the second petition on Lyari’s spiral into violence.

KARACHI: Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar of the Sindh High Court issued notices to the Sindh advocate general and inspector general police for April 26 while hearing a petition on Friday, filed by two women of Lyari town.

Sania Naz and Gul Bano submitted that on the orders of the provincial government, the Sindh police was carrying out a targeted operation in Lyari during which innocent citizens were being harassed and not a single killer or member of the drug mafia was being arrested.

The targeted operations are having a negative impact as the peaceful residents cannot go about their daily life and their movement has been curtailed.

Their sleep has been disturbed as police teams cordon off the localities and barge in during the night.

They appealed to the court to declare the targeted operation as illegal and stop it as the police have not been able to derive any thing from it.

This is the second petition on Lyari’s spiral into violence.

In an earlier petition, two other residents sought the court’s intervention over the failure of the police.

Its all drama no operation is going on there. When Rangers can freely operate in Karachi in MQM and ANP areas arrest people why Rangers don't go to lyari where Rocket Launchers are use freely? This PPP government thinks that everyone is fool in this city these Lyari gangsters or Criminals or Drug Mafia or what ever name them have complete patronage of this so called Democratic Government of PPP and PPP as a political party. I heard Chaudhry Aslam SSP CID saying Baba Ladla have 196 Murder cases,

If Ajmal Pahari can be arrested for 100 Murders and his JIT can be public Why not Baba Ladla is arrested and Champions of Democracy public his JIT?

"single killer or member of the drug mafia"

Help the Sindh police in identifying them then?
