Chemotherapist’s transfer: ‘Transfer is an administrative matter’

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Thursday dismissed a petition that challenged a doctor’s transfer observing that it was an administrative matter in which the court could not interfere. The petition was filed by Dr Azhar, a chemotherapist at Jinnah Hospital. He claimed that he was the only chemotherapist at the hospital and that his transfer would cause inconvenience to patients. He alleged that his transfer was “politically motivated”. Earlier, the chief justice noted that Pakistan was the “only country” where ‘saviours’ go on strike and no one bothers about the patients.
