Court set bail at Rs100,000 each, confirmed their post-arrest bail pleas as they were not nominated in the main FIR
LAHORE:
Additional District and Sessions Judge Khizer Hayat Khan on Wednesday granted bail to Dr Mubashar, Dr Ali Akbar and Dr Muhammad Anees, who are accused of running an illegal kidney transplant centre. The court set bail at Rs100,000 each and confirmed their post-arrest bail pleas as they were not nominated in the main FIR of the case. The police had added their names in the supplementary statements. The judge said that this was a matter for further inquiry so they would be granted bail. The doctors as well as others were arrested as they allegedly prepared to conduct an illegal kidney transplant in a house in Al Faisal Town in July last year. According to the complainant, he was to be paid Rs110,000 for his kidney, which was later to be transplanted into an Indonesian man.
