HYDERABAD:

Administrative staff belonging to all public universities in Sindh have called for the removal of retired officers from their jobs in universities.

Officers from Karachi University, NED University, Sindh University, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Quaid-e-Awam University, among others, attended the meeting of Sindh Universities Officers Federation at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam on Sunday.

Officials announced that they would file a contempt of court case, in light of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s ruling against hiring of retired officers in public universities if their chancellors and vice chancellors do not take notice. The federation’s chairman, Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, said that promotion of officials on merit is affected by the appointment of retired officers.
