ISLAMABAD:

The federal government has increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs4.66 per litre, pushing the new rate to Rs433.40 per litre with effect from March 28, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.

While kerosene saw another upward revision, the government chose to hold the line on petrol and diesel prices, keeping them unchanged at Rs321.17 and Rs335.86 per litre, respectively, despite fluctuations in the global oil market.

Officials said the decision was aimed at cushioning consumers from international price shocks, even as pressure continues to build on the domestic pricing front. According to the notification, the government will pay oil marketing companies Rs95.59 per litre on petrol and Rs203.88 per litre on diesel.
