An FIR would be registered against private firms that do not change filters of their water filtration plants installed around the city on the due time.

District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal announced on Friday.

The DCO was addressing a meeting to discuss timely change of filters in the water filtration plants for the provision of clean drinking water.

He said that the maintenance of the filtration plants was the responsibility of the district administration and that the filters should be changed after every due date.

He warned that legal action would be taken against firms that violated the orders.
