MIRPUR: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has planned to encourage foreign investment by overseas Pakistanis, including UK-based Kashmiri expatriates, to ensure speedy industrial development in the state.

Official sources on Monday said that one-window operational facilities will be extended by the government, under the plan, to the existing and intending entrepreneurs seeking investment in trade and industrial sectors.

Sources also revealed that in order to ensure uninterrupted and smooth power supply to the local industrial concerns, a new grid station had been installed on 40 kanal land at the New Industrial Estate.

With installation of the new grid station, the pressure of power consumption through the existing grid station would reduce to a considerable extent ensuring smooth power supply to the stipulated area, they added.
