Major Crimes: Gang rape, kidnapping reported

Police official says incident took place on February 2, but was only reported to the police on April 6.

The gang rape of a woman and the kidnapping of another were reported at Drosh Police Station in Chitral District on Friday, police said.


A police official told The Express Tribune that the first incident took place in Kesu, where Neelum* was attacked by Sher Alam, Rashid and an unidentified person. The official said the attackers sexually assaulted her.

The police official added that the incident took place on February 2, but was only reported to the police on April 6. He said the victim was taken to Chitral District Headquarters Hospital for a medical checkup. The accused are still at large.

Separately, a married woman was kidnapped from Khairabad by eight men. The police said that four of them were arrested on Saturday, while the police are still searching for the victim and the four remaining accused.
