LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court chief justice on Thursday issued notices for May 8 to cabinet division’s federal secretary and the National Police Foundation managing director in a petition challenging “misuse of funds in the foundation and unfair distribution of plots”.

A former police officer, Salimullah Khan, has filed the petition and stated that some senior police officers had been awarded more than one plot by the NPF. He said the foundation had ignored the families of martyred police personnel, lower-rank officials and those who become handicapped in the line on duty. The petitioner also alleged that the NPF welfare funds were being distributed among officers.
