LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition seeking the disqualification of PML-N leader Marvi Memon. Justice Umar Ata Bandial dismissed the petition and observed that the court could not disqualify any politician on the basis of mere speculations and allegations. The petitioner had submitted that after Memon joined the PML-N, the Punjab government gave her Rs300 million under the head of development fund. He said that the politician had used that money for development work in Sindh which he said was “illegal”. He prayed that Memon be disqualified from contesting elections in the future.
