“The government is pursuing a policy of encouraging education, especially among women. They must be empowered and reach heights of success,” Kausar said, at the ceremony held the University of Peshawar. “I pledge to make SBBWU a model university for others.”
Tearfully, Kausar recalled his time as a student at the University of Peshawar. “I have an emotional attachment with the university. I taught at the law college for 18 years.”
Addressing the students, he said: “Dear graduates, I congratulate you all for realising your cherished dreams and remind you that the road ahead is long but exciting.”
He said that education is the key to success but a lack of education, healthcare and other facilities in Fata has not only created problems for locals but also poses a threat to our country.
The SBBWU awarded 232 degrees and 32 gold medals at the ceremony. Kausar announced Rs20,000 for each gold medalist on his behalf.
SBBWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Farhana Jehangir said that the institution was working to impart quality education to its students. “Our university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huderfield, Bradford and other universities. We are also focusing on extra-curricular activities.”
