Jashan-e-Baharan 2012: People treated to music, flower show

RAWALPINDI:

Residents of the twin cities were treated to a musical evening and a flower show at Jashan-e-Baharan 2012 in Nawaz Sharif Park on Tuesday.

The Kahuta Research Laboratories won the competition, beating 11 competitors including Arid Agriculture University and Parks and Horticulture Agency.

The organisers arranged a musical evening for the visitors on Tuesday, where local and national artists performed live. A good number of people attended the event and enjoyed the cool evening under lights with loud music.

“We came as the festival provided a healthy opportunity to enjoy the spring evening away from the busy and hectic urban life,” said Hanif Ahmed who came with his wife and children. Ahmed seemed satisfied with the security measures.

Umer Farooq, the media coordinator for the event, said that they had “much in store” for people in the two-week-long festival, which ends on April 8.
