The two robbers reportedly snatched a motorbike from a resident indentified as Nasir and ran away. However, the two were intercepted by Nasir’s cousin Younus Ahmed and other residents of the area. One of the two robbers retaliated and opened fire at his attackers, killing Ahmed and injuring four others.
In the ensuing tussle, one of the robbers allegedly shot himself and died on the spot, while the other was beaten to death by the enraged crowd. Police officials stood by as silent spectators as the beating continued.
The bodies of the two robbers were later shifted to Nishtar hospital.
SP cantt. Multan Dr Shehzad Asif told The Express Tribune that one of the criminals was identified as Noman Dogar, who was wanted in 10 cases of murder and robbery.

What is wrong with the people who think that it was barbaric or wrong to kill that robber. Please read the news again, the robbers killed and injured 4 people. This is the only way to deal with these merciless robbers and hats off to the people who killed them. The Sialkot brothers also got what they deserved, from the stories ive heard about them. Our Police is no good, its better people take the law in their hands.
Let me guess, the police will still keep their jobs even though watching such a thing means they're not doing their job which would usually get people fired anywhere else.
I can guarantee you that robbers will think twice about committing crimes in Multan after hearing about this story. Vigilante justice- be it in New York City or Multan works to thwart thieves. Let's face Multan is a lot safer than Karachi because the people in Multan won't put up with criminals.
If Police let them die, then how can people claim that police is complicit with theives/robbers?
Police officials stood by as silent spectators as the beating continued. Worth repeating and perhaps the biggest crime of all.
when you know the police will not help you then what is a citizen to do.......it is not right to kill anyone, especially for a robbery but thats the only way citizens can instill fear in future robbers
They got what they deserved! I have no sympathies for these robbers.
Anarchy!
Shocking to see how much barbarianism has seeped into our spines.
@Hakeem: bhai jan, if u don't know the Sialkot brothers were murderers and had killed a younger brother of one of their attackers just before they were caught by the family members of their victim.
How do we know if this isn't similar case as Sialkot brothers case?
Where is the SC?? The judges are as corrupt as the politicians
Another example of lack of trust in Judicial System and Police
Mob justice take place.... when justice denied, but memogate, mehrangate is more imporntant then justice provided to common people.
HUMANITY is the first casualty in any society that lacks INSAF (Justice).
When the legal system fails and criminals keep on getting set free by police and courts then such lynch mobs will result. It is a tragic incident but when justice fails, mobs rule.
