PESHAWAR:

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that his party would not allow parliament to be used for fulfilling US’ wishes.

Talking to reporters at the JUI-F’s provincial headquarters, Rehman said that his party would decide its future course of action at a meeting to be held in Peshawar on Friday. He also disclosed that he had invited all opposition leaders in Islamabad on March 24, where they would try to build a consensus for parliament’s joint session. “All opposition leaders have accepted our invitation,” he said. Without being specific, the party chief said that some short-term objectives had been included in the Parliamentary Committee on National Security’s (PNCS) recommendations. Fazl said that previous resolutions of parliament were not followed, and that decisions should be made on political grounds.
