Dis-connected: FIA nabs two LESCO officials
Lesco is not authorised to give connections to a plaza from an ordinary transformer.
LAHORE:
The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Punjab chapter has arrested two official of the Lahore Electricity Company (Lesco) on charges of accepting bribes to grant electricity connections to two plazas, Ghousia Plaza and Razaq Plaza, situated in Rang Mahal. Lesco is not authorised to give connections to a plaza from an ordinary transformer. A separate transformer is installed for each plaza. FIA officials stated that a case has been launched against the officials and a loss of Rs1 million to the national exchequer is estimated.
