Development schemes: 628 completed with Rs14.32b

MUZAFFARGARH:
The provincial government has spent Rs14.32 billion on 628 uplift schemes in the district this year, district coordination officer Tahir Khursheed told Commissioner Tariq Mehmood and others at a briefing on Sunday. The meeting was called to review the workings of the district development committee and progress in development projects. Commissioner Mehmood was informed that 628 development schemes included construction and repair of school buildings, provision of missing facilities, upgrade of schools and healthcare centres. The DCO said 511 projects had been completed while 117 were underway. He said all of these projects had been initiated and completed in 11 Punjab Assembly constituencies. The commissioner directed the officers to complete on-going projects within the deadline. He said there should be no compromise on quality of construction material. EDO (Education) Masood Nadeem, EDO (Health) Aashiq Hussain, ADC Muzaffargarh Muzaffar Khan Sial and EDO (Finance and Planing) Arfan Ahmed Sindhu were also present on the occasion.
