ISLAMABAD:

The role of chemistry in the “lives of the people” was closely examined during the ‘It’s all about Chemistry’ International Travelling Expo held at the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) on Monday.

The event was arranged by PSF in collaboration with the French Embassy, Centre Sciences-FRANCE, UNESCO and other partners.

The expo was aimed at generating enthusiasm among students to study chemistry and piquing interest in the subject. Former Peshawar Agriculture University Vice Chancellor Syed Iqbal Shah inaugurated the expo. He urged students to fully benefit from these programmes, adding that such events provide first-hand knowledge to students arousing their curiosity about various phenomena while helping to develop their interest in this important subject.

“Chemistry is an exciting experimental science which helps us understand the world besides making our lives easier,” PSF Chief Scientific Officer Farhat Rajpar said, adding that the study of chemistry is critical in addressing challenges such as climate change, the provision of sustainable sources of clean water and food energy among others.

The displays of the expo covered some interesting topics, such as, Black and White Chemistry, Molecules in Action, Nature Returns with a bang, Intelligent Textiles - Dress Intelligently, Dress Usefully, Bio-fuels for Green Driving and Responsible Farming, among others.
