Mirpur City: AJK demands international airport

Early establishment of an international airport in Mirpur is the need of the hour.

MIRPUR (AJK): Early establishment of an international airport in Mirpur, where reside a huge population of Kashmiri expatriates resides, is the need of the hour to provide hassle-free travel to and from their destinations abroad. This was emphasised by AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed who demanded of the government of Pakistan to arrange for the establishment of an international airport in the city at the earliest. Majeed pointed out that over three million people of AJK were serving abroad and contributing their due share to the economic progress and prosperity of Pakistan and  AJK. The AJK prime minister also said that he had requested the government of Pakistan for the revival of air traveling facilities to and from Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot through the restoration of airports at both stations.
