Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) General Secretary and Senate opposition leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that they will not allow restoration of Nato supplies through Pakistan.
Addressing a public meeting at the Tehkal Bala area of Peshawar on Thursday, Haideri said that the US has suffered a defeat in Afghanistan. He criticised the government saying that despite their announcement to shoot down US drones following the Salala checkpost attack, drone attacks have resumed again.
Referring to the defence minister’s statement on restoring Nato supplies citing humanitarian grounds, Haideri said that it was an “insult to call Americans humans given the atrocities they are committing in Afghanistan against innocent people.”
Accusing the ruling elite of acting as American agents for the past 64 years, he said that “Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan are in a race to please the US.” Despite being an atomic power, Pakistan still has concerns about its safety, he added.
Haideri criticised the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for changing the school curriculum and alleged that the ANP had divided the province by renaming it.
“There was no military operation anywhere in this province under the MMA,” he said.
He said that Pakistani people were ready for an Islamic revolution, and that it was bound to come. The JUI-F public meeting in Karachi had shown the truth about Imran Khan’s popularity, he added. He claimed that JUI-F will assemble a “sea of masses” in Peshawar on March 25.
