Hit-and-run: Man dead, wife injured in accident

FAISALABAD: Dozens of residents of Chak 56-GB staged a protest demonstration on Satiana Road on Wednesday night over the killing of two relatives in a road accident. The protesters gathered on the accident site near Chak 23-GB following the report of Muhammad Husain’s death in a collision between a motorcycle he was driving and a speeding truck. Hussain’s wife suffered severe injuries in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors described her condition as critical. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The protesters blocked the road for traffic over an hour, demanding immediate arrest of the driver. The demonstration ended after Satiana police team led by SP Shah Nawaz and DSP Rana Muhammad Aslam came to the scene and assured the protesters of immediate action in the incident.
