KARACHI: The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) has launched a project called the “Pedestrianisation of Saddar” on Wednesday. It is aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of traffic in the area. KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Sheikh said that the project, estimated to cost around Rs100 million, will regulate street vendors and remove illegal encroachments from the principal arteries of the area. Sheikh hoped that the project would be completed within five months, after which certain roads in Saddar will be reserved for pedestrians’ use only.
